For 2015, the Fresh Figs Marketing Team has committed to having a monthly Fresh Figs Outing. Even though we are a small group that works closely on a day-to-day basis, we need to have some fun out of the office too! It is a great way for us to share our interests with each other, or to discover something new to all of us! Our plans got off to a slow start, however in March we finally figured out where to go. We attended the Russian National Ballet’s performance of “Sleeping Beauty” at The Tarkington in Carmel, IN. It had been years for each of us since we had seen a live ballet performance. The troupe entertained us well, with elegant costumes, graceful dancing, and the music of Tchaikovsky. Typical of each of them, Emelie spent once scene of the performance coming up with names for the various suitors of the Princess (who you may remember becomes Sleeping Beauty through a spell a jealous witch set upon her at birth) and Jennifer spent the whole event try to adjust to seeing a ballet without a live orchestra performing the music (a first for her, and no, she never really adjusted).
All in all it was an enjoyable evening. For April’s Fresh Figs Outing, Emelie is going to share her love of poetry with Jennifer! Can’t wait.
